About the role

As a Motor Vehicle Technician at Camworx Auto Services, you’ll play an important role in delivering the high standards of workmanship our customers have come to expect. Working in our modern workshop in Dundalk, you’ll carry out vehicle servicing, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs across a wide range of makes and models.

We’re looking for a technician who can confidently manage jobs from start to finish, takes ownership of their work, and consistently delivers quality without compromise. Whether you’re carrying out a routine service, diagnosing an engine management fault or completing a complex mechanical repair, you’ll approach every vehicle with professionalism and attention to detail.

Your Responsibilities

Perform routine vehicle servicing and scheduled maintenance.
Carry out mechanical repairs to a high professional standard.
Diagnose electrical, electronic and mechanical faults using modern diagnostic equipment.
Complete vehicle inspections and health checks.
Replace and repair components including brakes, suspension, steering, batteries, clutches, timing components and other mechanical systems.
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with manufacturer specifications where applicable.
Use OEM-quality parts and follow best workshop practices.
Maintain accurate job records and communicate any additional work required.
Keep your work area clean, organised and compliant with health and safety procedures.
Deliver the level of workmanship and customer care that reflects the Camworx Auto Services reputation.
Essential Skills & Experience

3–5 years’ experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician (preferred).
Strong knowledge of vehicle servicing and preventative maintenance.
Excellent mechanical aptitude and diagnostic ability.
Confident using modern diagnostic equipment.
Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
High attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
Full driving licence preferred.
Reliable, professional and motivated with a positive attitude.

What we’re looking for

Qualifications and certifications

* Qualified Motor Vehicle Technician with a recognised automotive qualification (e.g. National Craft Certificate (Ireland), QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Motor Mechanics, IMI, City & Guilds Level 3, NVQ Level 3, or an equivalent recognised qualification).
* Minimum 3–5 years’ hands-on experience in a professional automotive workshop preferred.
* Full, valid driving licence.
* Experience using modern diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service information.
* Hybrid and Electric Vehicle (HEV/EV) qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
* Manufacturer training or franchise experience is beneficial but not required.
* Excellent servicing, maintenance, diagnostic and mechanical repair skills across a range of vehicle makes and models.

Minimum experience

3 years’ professional experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician in a busy automotive workshop. Experience in vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and mechanical repairs across a range of makes and models is essential. Applicants should be capable of managing their own workload and completing jobs to a high standard with minimal supervision.

Previous industry background

Applicants should have previous experience working in an independent garage, main dealer, or professional automotive workshop. A strong background in vehicle servicing, routine maintenance, mechanical repairs and diagnostics across a range of vehicle makes and models is preferred. Experience with modern diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service procedures is advantageous.

Specific skills or manufacturer training

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills are essential, with the ability to accurately identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues across a wide range of vehicle makes and models.

Experience with modern diagnostic equipment, vehicle systems, and manufacturer-specific tooling is highly desirable. Training or experience with OEM diagnostic platforms, EV/hybrid systems, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and modern vehicle technologies would be an advantage.

Relevant manufacturer training, IMI qualifications, or recognised automotive certifications are desirable but not essential, as we value proven technical ability, attention to detail, and a commitment to ongoing learning.
